Cheers! Join us for a day of music and community in prospect park!

Pangaea NYC is hosting one of the first gatherings of the season in the park on May 5th. Expect Handpans and as many auxiliary percussion instruments as we can fit in an SUV for jams and musical hangs!

We’ll be providing access to a ton of different pans and percussion for everyone, bring your exploratory energy and a dish to share! We’ll have some guided jams and an open mic style format for sharing music leading into a performance by the Pangaea Pantam Ensemble.

The exact location will be pinned to the group/comments some days before the event. Suggested donation is 10-20$ or a dish to share with everyone at the event however no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

We will also be providing a grill and some options for everyone as far as food goes.

Event starts at 3pm, 3:30-4:00 will be mini first touch workshop, where we teach the basics on how to strike the instrument, where it comes from, and one exercise to get everyone who’s new to the instrument rolling. From there it’ll be guided jams and open playing + food until about 5:00 after which we’ll provide a small sound system and mic setup for those who want to share music.

Pangaea Ensemble performance will start at 5:45-6:00 and then we’ll end out the day with some more jams and food. Event ends at around 7pm. Tentative meeting place is the Veil of Cashmere in prospect park, pinned location will be posted days before the event.
